Having been born of goodly parents...

Strange title, I know. Don't worry, I am not going to make this some religious rant on the scriptures-- I just wanna talk about my parents.
This past week, my dad was down in Tucson, Arizona visiting my sister Amber. He recently had back surgery done, and he wanted a little nice weather while he was recuperating. After the cold we've had lately, I don't blame him. :)
My mom stayed home because she couldn't leave school for that long. I didn't realize until just the other day how hard it had been for her to be without my dad for a week. Also, I didn't realize how hard it was for my dad to be without my mom for that long.
Then, I found out that this was the longest time they had EVER been separated since they were married. It made me think a little-- they've been married for over 26 years and never once had they been or wanted to be apart from each other. That is true and undying love.
I was talking to my mom, and she said that there's just something about having my dad around her that makes everything seem okay. In her words, "I just feel so safe when he's around. The world seems okay."
I love my parents so much, and I am glad to know that they kinda like each other too. :)

I hope that I will have this kind of relationship with my wife. I want to be best friends with her. I want to be like my parents; they're amazing.
I want to be amazing.
